Frequently Asked Questions

How can anyone be sure God exists?

We may not be able to have absolute certainty, but we have reasonable certainty. (Romans 1:20)

Does God care about what happens to us?

Yes, so much so that He sent Jesus Christ to bring hope and meaning into our world of hopeless and despair. (Matthew 6:26)

Who is Jesus Christ?

Jesus Christ is the most unique man who has ever lived, the Son of God, Savior of the World. (Colossians 1:15)

Did Jesus Christ really claim to be God?

Though He humbly lived out His role as a servant, Jesus’ teachings and action made it clear He is both God and man. (John 1:14)

Why should I trust the bible?

The bible can be trusted because it is accurate, it bears evidence of divine authorship, and it was endorsed by Jesus, the most trustworthy person in history. (2 Timothy 3:16; Psalm 119:160)

Where did evil come from?

God did not create evil, but God did allow evil to enter the world as the consequence for sin after humankind’s rebellion against God. (Isaiah 14:12-14; Ezekiel 28:12-19)

Why do innocent people suffer?

People suffer because we live in a sin-stained world. However, in one sense there are no truly innocent people, so no innocent people suffer. Yet it is the very nature of evil to not discriminate among its victims, which is why evil is so volatile and dangerous. (Proverbs 13:15; Romans 3:23; Romans 8:22-23)

Why doesn’t God do something?

He has done something through Jesus Christ, this act will hold us over until, at the end of time, He rights every wrong. (John 3:16-18; 2 Corinthians 5:21)

What’s so different about Christianity?

Christianity is the only religion that teaches that salvation is a gift from God offered through Jesus Christ, not something a person can earn by following a set of religious guidelines. (Ephesians 2:6-10)

Why is Jesus Christ so important?

Jesus Christ, God’s Son, is the only one able to forgive our sins, because He alone paid the price. His life in exchange for ours. (Romans 8:1-3)

Can someone like me really change?

Yes, because God provides His followers with new life and a new source of power through the Holy Spirit so even you can change! (Colossians 1:27; 2 Corinthians 5:17)

How does someone actually become a Christian?

By receiving Jesus Christ, His provision for sin, His power for living, and His indwelling presence forever. His offer of forgiveness and new life is open to any and all who will ask for it. The only thing one needs to do to become a Christian is simply accept the free gift God offer in his Son. To do that you must: a) admit you’re a sinner in need of forgiveness; (Romans 3:23; 1 John 2:1-2) b) be willing to turn away from sin and cooperate with God to make changes; (Luke 24:46-47) c) believe that Jesus Christ completed the work of salvation through His death and resurrection; (Romans 10:9; 1 Corinthians 17-23) and d) personally receive Jesus Christ as forgiver and leader (1 John 1:9; Acts 4:12).
